Terms of Use

Your access to Washington County Criminal History is subject to these terms. Opening its pages, reviewing the material, or submitting a search indicates agreement with the conditions that follow. If you do not accept them, stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Washington County Criminal History is privately run and has no government affiliation. The site and its advertising providers do not supply screening for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or another purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The material identifies public-record channels in Washington County, Utah. This is not a private-investigation service or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site, not part of a public office. It neither keeps official criminal records nor acts for a user by retrieving an official file, conducting an official background check, or submitting paperwork.

Its content directs lawful personal research toward the Washington County Sheriff, Utah State Courts, the Utah Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Identification, the Utah Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry, and selected outside tools. Official access remains subject to the Government Records Access and Management Act, judicial access rules, and Utah Code Section 53-10-108 for BCI criminal-history dissemination.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of use, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Utah, or local law
  • Rely on its information to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Apply site content to an employment, housing, credit, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, or protected system
  • Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated collection tool against the pages
  • Interfere with site operation or another visitor's ability to use it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Neither site content nor results from a linked service may be used for intimidation, stalking, threats, harassment, or discrimination. Such conduct can violate the law. Information in the Utah Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry carries specific Utah misuse limits and is available for lawful safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Washington County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency as the FCRA defines that term. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Its advertising providers likewise do not offer tools intended to evaluate applicants for jobs or housing, set insurance terms, or measure creditworthiness. Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make a decision to employ or dismiss a person
  • Evaluate an applicant for a rental or other housing opportunity
  • Set insurance terms or assess credit eligibility
  • Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
  • Carry out any additional activity regulated by the FCRA

When regulated screening is lawful, it must be completed through an appropriate official channel or an FCRA-compliant provider rather than through this site.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is informational and does not constitute legal advice. A general Washington County resource cannot decide how Utah law applies to an individual's warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement matter. Advice about a specific situation should come from a Utah-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

All site content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Any information will always be complete, correct, or up to date
  • Access will remain continuous or free from interruption
  • The pages will contain no defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • An outside search provider will return accurate or comprehensive results

Criminal records can change when charges are filed or dismissed and when records are sealed or expunged. Delays and omissions may occur despite efforts to keep material current. No statement here is an official declaration by the Washington County Sheriff, a Utah court, BCI, or another government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to sheriff resources, Utah court portals, agency pages, legal-aid organizations, and outside search providers. Following a link takes the visitor to a service outside our control. Responsibility is disclaimed for that service's availability, fees, information, and data practices. Review the destination's own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Washington County Criminal History or its content partners own the applicable rights in the site's writing, graphics, logos, and code. Prior written consent is required to reproduce, alter, adapt, or distribute those materials.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is disclaimed for damages arising from site use, including harm tied to a decision based on material found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, proceedings, or demands caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms. This obligation includes related expenses and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Utah law. Relevant statutes include GRAMA for government records, Utah Code Section 53-10-108 for BCI dissemination, and the Utah Consumer Privacy Act for covered consumer data. Subject to all applicable jurisdiction and venue requirements, litigation connected with site use must proceed in a Utah court.

12. Changes to These Terms

These conditions may be revised at any time. A new version becomes effective when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended, restricted, or ended at any time, without advance notice and for any reason.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be limited or revised only to the extent needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
